The Yin-Yang Juggle: When Women Have to Do It All (and Still Smile)

A Dance Between Energies We Didn't Sign Up For
As women, we are intuitively yin—feminine, nurturing, receptive, and ever-so-flowing.
We are born with an intuition that rises from childlike innocence—yet it is raw, primal, curious, and full of fire. This recipe comes from the groin, the gut, the very grit of all of us: the beautiful, feminine essence.
It's the part of us that soothes, holds space, listens deeply, and loves without needing a reason.
It's the part of us that's born with an inner knowing, a wisdom that rises straight from the gut. We anticipate what's around the corner, we adjust, and serve from our feminine, yin core.
That's who I've always been and what I deeply appreciate about myself.
But let's be honest, life doesn't always make space for our softness. Sometimes it feels like the world either fears it, ignores it or pushes it down.
Our greatness is too much for the world to take, yet we're the reason humanity even exists.
It's all so black and white. Yin or yang. Soft or strong.
But we can do hard things. We have to. We know how to.
When the Yin Crashes Into Yang
When I was married, my husband often worked out of town for weeks at a time, which led me to hold everything down at home. And somewhere along the way, I slipped—okay, let's be real, I crashed into full on yang, masculine, do-it-all energy.
Suddenly, I wasn't just the heart of the home; I became the household CEO. Does this sound familiar?
I managed the schedule, grocery runs, school drop-offs, cooking, bills, taxes, doctor appointments, and carpool coordination… and yes, I was still trying to work and bring in an income. Oh, and let's not forget skincare and workouts—because self-care isn't vanity, it's essential to my health and everyone else's around me.
For over a decade, I was in a state of deep "alpha" mode. That masculine, get-sh*t-done vibe was my survival tool. And guess what?
That version of me was often seen as bossy aka, Yang. Does this sound familiar?
I became rigid (because I'd built a working system—don't mess with it).
Unapproachable (because when you're running a household like a business (which it is), softness doesn't move the needle).
And all the while, I tried not to emasculate the man in the room, when he happened to be around.
The Yin Feels Invisible, But the Yang Gets Judged
It's a constant mental juggle:
- Be soft, but strong.
- Be yielding, but decisive.
- Be supportive, but not a pushover.
- Don't nag, but do remind everyone about everything—or nothing gets done.
- Make the reservations, but don't emasculate.
It's a damned if you do, damned if you don't kind of situation.
Most women I know are naturally yin at their core. However, we've been forced to activate our yang to keep the train on track.
And we do it with grace, all while questioning ourselves and avoiding stepping on anyone's toes. It's exhausting.
Frankly, at 52, I'm over it.
That's what they say about entering the fifth decade of a woman's life.
I'm here for it.
Let's Call It What It Is: Women Are Ballers
We are ballers.
Drivers.
Quiet powerhouses who hold the emotional blueprint of the family and the structural map of everyone's lives inside our minds.
We're not trying to dominate.
We're just trying to keep everyone alive and loved.
That's a different kind of leadership—one rooted in care, responsibility, and deep inner strength. But it costs us. And if we don't find ways to reclaim our yin, that cost shows up in our bodies, our skin, our nervous systems, our health, our relationships.
So, How Do We Reclaim Our Yin Without Letting Life Fall Apart?
It starts with small rituals of restoration—simple, loving touchpoints that remind us who we are underneath the armor. That's why I created KismetK, to offer products, tools, reminders, and rituals that help us reconnect with ourselves.

Final Thoughts From One Yin-Yang Warrior to Another
We were never meant to do it all, but somehow, we managed to figure ALOT out.
My hope is that we permit ourselves to soften without guilt, to lead without apology, and to care for ourselves with the same love we give so freely to others.
Because being a woman in this world;
Is a full-time job with no PTO.
But damn… we're good at it.
Let's not forget to be while we do.
With love, grit, and a spritz of cucumber mist,
And please, don't forget to hug yourself every morning! It's as essential as water!
